Cancer diagnoses around the world have steadily been rising and are expected to hit 12 million this year. Global cancer deaths are expected to reach 7 million, according to the new report by the World Health Organization.
What do you think causing the rise and what would you do as a preventative measure?

As far as skin cancer is concerned, more people need to take better precautionary measures when going outside. You need to limit your exposure to the sun and use a good sunblock lotion and reapply it every few hours. I think that's one of the big mistake people make because they think that since they put it on in the morning, they will be alright the entire day.

Good question. It must be chemicals, carcinogen exposure and the like causing gene mutation. So - what can be done?

I think science will eventually unlock the answer and "write the code" to address the genetic mutations, akin to installing a software patch; but in the mean time, eat healthy, don't smoke, and include a healthy dose of daily antioxidants (http://www.a1supplements.com/Antioxidants-p-1-c-397.html).

Personally, I believe that fast food has had a lot to do with the current sickness people are getting. I say this half jokingly, but with all the chemicals they pump into the beef and the high amount of trans fat that they were using, it's not that hard to believe. I have watched 3 of my close friends die recently, all 3 from brain aneurysms, one was 24 years old, one about 50, and the other was 21. In addition, I have seen a lot of younger people dying from cancer. Just last week, a lady from my company died of cancer, and she was only 43. This is way too young for stuff like this to be happening. Is there a common factor linking them all? Most everyone eats fast food (personally I quit about 2 years ago), so maybe this is the reason, or at least part of the reason.

It would be great to get an opinion from an Oncologist.

Wow - three brain aneurysms? That's sad...and just strange. Something's wrong with this picture.

From the earliest times, physicians have wondered about the cause of cancer.

The Egyptians blamed cancers on the Gods.

I just visited my Father at Stanford Hospital, he's recovering from a Stem Cell/ Bone Marrow transplant from an aggressive form of non Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Cancer is not a pretty thing and is very unforgiving... Everyone should see the doctor every year for a routine check up!
