Has anyone used this product before? I heard good things about it and just ordered some from GNC out of excitement...I read that it releases energy from fat so that you dont burn muscle tissue and gives you extra energy plus other benefits. What serving would you recommend? Any advice is appreciated.

L-carnitine is a great amino acid as far as a lipotropic fat burner. Buying anything from gnc is a waist of money.

I've never used l-carnitine before before, but I've heard it gives good energy boosts in the gym and a few people have said it helped them lose some fat in the midsection.

The great thing about taking L carinitine is that it's not only good as a fatty acid metaboliser, but it's also great for energy. The best way to get the most out of l carnitine is by using it before exercising. You almost have to get your body in a fat burning mode with it unlike being on thermogenics. This is a great article about l carnitine http://www.a1supplements.com/LCarnitine-p-1-c-292-a.html

GNC products are not necessarily bad, it's just that you will probably get a better price somewhere else such as the store here.
GNC is usually only good if it's on sale and you have a gold card. Even then you might need a coupon to match the prices here.

Yeah they are a bit pricey, luckily I got the gold card though. . .

Yeah. you would have to buy some generic l-carnitine with there gold card vs. buying quality brand as cheap if not cheaper. It's yo money!

I never get any supplements from GNC because of the ridiculous markup on their prices. Their products aren't necessarily bad, but they are overpriced. I typically get most of my supplements online because you can find good deals on a good product L-Carnitine (http://www.a1supplements.com/L-Carnitine-p-1-c-292.html)can sometimes be hard to find, but I've had no problems online. L-Carnitine is definitely good for helping weight loss, increasing energy, and it helps the brain with mental performance.

The percentage of L-carnitine that is absorbed when taken via oral supplementation is much lower than that from food sources. In one particular study, it was shown that approximately 20% of orally supplemented L-carnitine is absorbed, with a bioavailability of roughly 15%

I got the above message from singha link he sent in his message. You need to take alot more of this supplement because of the bad absorbtion rate. I always wondered how much of all these supplements get absorbed.

What kind of food would you to eat to get L-Carnitine and how much do you have to eat to get enough on a regular basis? That's why there are "Supplements." Of course any nutrients/amino's you get out of real food is better, but how much food, what kind of food, and who can get all they need out of real food is the question?

good call, sorry to stir up an older thread, but I've seen/heard a lot of people trying to push food for nutrients, which is a plus, but I would say only to get people to start eating healthier. I wouldn't want to push a bunch of supplements on someone new to exercise, but having some basics in due time is key.

Dude, all threads are good threads. I agree with what your saying. But if someone wants to try an ingredient like l carnitine how else would you advise him/her other than saying try it in a supplement form. As far as using more cutting edge supplements in due time is also key.

I think you misunderstood and I didn't say enough.... so in summary, I agree with you
